This is my 3rd place photo at the Pink Lady Food Photographer of the Year 2020 Awards, submitted in the food bloggers category. It was a huge honor to be even included in one of the most respected photography competitions in the world – with over 9,000 entries from 70 countries. So to get third place in the food bloggers category makes me speechless.
The strudel dough you see in the picture is one of my dearest recipes. It is an old family recipe, passed down for generations. I’ve been stretching strudel dough since early childhood. To get a perfect result, you have to stretch the dough until paper-thin. In the picture, this is me in the zone.
This year, due to covid, the award winners were not announced at the Mall Galleries like every year so far, but in an online awards evening. The exhibition of the finalist and winner pictures, usually at the Mall Galleries, has gone online as well. You can find the virtual exhibition here.
