Healthy Strawberry Smoothie

Healthy Strawberry Smoothie Recipe1This flavor bursting, sugar-free, creamy and vegan strawberry smoothie is ready in a few seconds and only needs two ingredients. Wait … 3 ingredients if you count the ice as an actual ingredient.

I got crazy enthusiastic at the market again and bought some boxes of strawberries. As you may have noticed, strawberries spoil very quickly, so this smoothie is a good way to get rid of fruit in a fast way and aditionally, to give yourself a vitamin boost.

If you are looking for another way to prevent your berries from spoiling: Try this dreamy 5-minute, 4-ingredient strawberry frozen yogurt. I’m sure you will love it!

Vegan Strawberry Smoothie two ingredients RecipeAs for this super healthy strawberry smoothie, I was surprised that this sugar-free drink tastes sooo delicious. I used unsweetened almond milk and very ripe and sweet strawberries to get a decent sweet tasting smoothie. I like it that way.

If you prefer your smoothie a little sweeter or if your strawberries are not exactly the sweetest, you can use sweetened almond milk (or any other milk) or add some agave syrup, honey or a banana. A banana always does the trick. Find the recipe to my 3-ingredient and naturally sweet Strawberry Banana Smoohtie here.

Btw, you don’t need any special equipment. I made this strawberry smoothie with my cheap magic bullet. I’ve used this smoothie maker for all smoothies and smoothie bowls here on the blog, no fancy blender needed. It blends ice cubes (as long as they are not too large) and frozen fruit really well.

Strawberry Smoothie with 2 ingredientsI see it coming: The citizens of Little Vienna love this drink so much that they will slurp on their strawberry smoothies all day long and forget about their work. Oh no, too late.

This naturally sweet 3-ingredient strawberry banana smoothie is simply amazing. It’s so tasty, fruity, creamy, and sweet that you wouldn’t believe it’s sugar-free. I make this one when craving something sweet, like chocolate. I’m sure you’ll have all the ingredients needed on hand.

That beautiful pink color is enough to make me want to drop everything and make this smoothie right now. I always make smoothies with unsweetened almond milk– it’s so creamy, but not overpowering or too rich, letting the fruit be the star. Love it! xo

I love this post!! This is fine as far as it goes, but it has far too much milk. I suggest half the milk plus an additional half-banana and two tablespoons of sugar. Thanks.

Thank you for this awesome post! What do you think about using half & half milk? Would this change the taste significantly?

Hi Katie! Since I am not really a fan of half & half, I would rather use regular milk instead. But if you like the taste, sure, go ahead why not? ;-)

Hi Alissa, Thank you so much! I’m glad you like it. I am really sorry, but I don’t provide that kind of information on the blog. But I can assure you since this smoothie is mostly ice and strawberries, which again mostly contain water, it’s a very low calorie smoothie. Wishing you a great day, Ursula

I wouldn’t say this “Sugar Free”, as a matter of fact i think it should be renamed to “No sugar added”. Strawberries have sugar in them which of course means it has sugar in the smoothie because of that. So sadly it’s not something that I can use because of that when you are trying to limit sugar intake. It’s great that it has no additional sugar but alas it still has it in there.

      Hi,
You are right, every fruit contains fruit sugar. I didn’t add any additional sugar to this smoothie and I think that’s what most people think of when reading “sugar-free” smoothie, even though it’s not really correct. I am aware of that. Thanks so much for pointing this out. Have a great day and thanks so much for stopping by ;-)

I want to make this smoothie but do you use frozen strawberries or fresh strawberries or does it matter? Plus I am going to use 1% milk and if it’s not sweet enough for me I will add a teaspoon of Swerve substitute for sugar since I’m diabetic

      Hi Marcia,
Happy to hear that you want to try the recipe. I use fresh strawberries, as indicated in the recipe part when you scroll down. If you have a powerful blender, you can also use frozen strawberries. I would omit (or at least reduce) the ice cubes in this case and increase the amount of milk. 1 % milk sounds good! Hope you’ll try it. Ursula
